Genaro C. LaVerde at 85 years of age, long time Medford resident passed away at home on Friday, February 12, 2010 surrounded by his loving family.

He was the beloved husband of Phyllis (Pilla) LaVerde with whom he shared fifty years of marriage.

He was the devoted father of Karen LaVerde of Medford, Donna and her husband Gerald Sweeney of Medford, Julie and her husband Joseph Baldassarre of Gardner, John LaVerde and his husband Peter Kouroubacalis, Jr. of Boston, Stephen Genaro and his wife Stephanie LaVerde of Malden, and Tina and her husband Stephen MacIntosh of Medford. He was the loving Papa of nine grandchildren and the dear brother of Eleanor Bazilynsky of Wakefield and the cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass was held in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery.
